Universal techno documentary
Excerpts from 1996′ French documentary Universal Techno featuring Juan Atkins & Derrick May. Extend a description of the Detroit scene as well as the music progress through the concept of some of the greatest techno artists of that time. Besides techno scene and discussion you could find an interesting view of the big US metropolis , the life conditions and depressing environment. Somehow Juan Atkins put some efforts to analyse the reasons , why techno growed so fast the previous decades there. With no doubt this film is absolutely spectacular , a good introduction for those who are interest on the history of techno in the states and beyond. This post is also part of our efforts , documenting artists and music from the early beginning of the contemporary electronic history.

Planet bass EP by Abuv
People who follow my posts on this blog for sometime , apparently now that I usually dont really like the hard basslines on drum n bass , rather prefer mellodic stuff , but this release more or less is an exception. Already many of you commended that the hard bassline of the 4 tracks at this EP , could be awesome on the dancefloor. Therefore I decided to make this short post presenting this new release by Fully Submerged Records available for download at breakbeat.co.uk . Antoni Bios lives in Athens Greece. He is producing electronic music since 1999 and he moved through different genres like (Psychedelic, Techno Trance, Electro House, Progressive House).
In 2001 he went to study Sound Engineering at IEK DELTA to understand better all the things about music and sound!
And then he started to play in very important clubs like: OXA, Xces, Umatic, Loft, Loop38, Oxygen, Hackers, Technopolis, EDO Athens Club.
In summer of 2009 he becomes resident Dj at ”Technoland Athens” and his first appearance was at the first 3 ”TECHNOLAND Projects”. He played with very Important djs like: Spektre, Dj Rush, Speedy J, Marko Nastic, Marko Milosavljevic, Uto Karem, Carlo Zita, Fabrizio Pettorelli, Federico Milani, Alfonso Forte and soon with many more famous djs and producers.

featured artists: Derrick May
Derrick may is part of the first generation of acid house/electronic music , rave producers and djs, when the free parties movement was rising in Europe and USA. He is probably one of the most remarkable producers of that age till our days, therefore I will try to write few information concerning his history as well as publishing bellow some of his dancefloor killers who made under the name Rhythim Is Rhythim in the late 80 s also as mayday in the 90s.
May born in Michigan/Belleville , went to the high school with Juan Atkins and Kevin Saunderson commonly known as the belleville 3. May is credited with developing the futuristic variation on house music that would be dubbed techno by Atkins.In fact May’s career oficially started with the release of a record called “Nude Photo” (co-written by Thomas Barnett) , which was absolutely a great motivation for the Detroit music scene.
Derrick May counts loads of good releases , most of them still shake the dancefloors around the world. He was releasing his stuff under the pseudonym , (as we also mentioned before) rhythim is rhythim and mayday in the late 80s , beginning of the 90s. Actually you can find many of his tracks available online.
