Fusion 2011, some fragmentary impressions
Instead of telling you everything we have experienced at Fusion-Festival this year (too many stories for this small space) we decided to give you a little overview about some interesting acts we’ve seen and share some pictures.

At first i want to mention Bingo Ingo & Die Bingo Band, who made an crazy combination of Bingo-Rock ( with songs like “In the Mood for Bingo” or “Sweet Bingo Boy” ) and a Bingo-Gala, which I really enjoyed. We´ve managed to win 2 bottles of champagne and lots of booze there, that helped us to survive the rainy fusion nights. Another great act was Tour de Vinyl , who did an perfomance with a laptop and 2 hometrainer-bikes, that where moving the turntables, playing some comedy and audio-drama records. I also really enjoyed the gig of Toni Haupt & Band , playing an mostly improvised slow semi-electric concert at the dubstation, with live-vocals, drums, a horn-section and a laptop, getting all the dubheads up to dance. Another interesting concert I´ve seen, was by Station 17 , a band out of people with Down´s Syndrom, who where really rocking the floor with an energetic mixture out of technoid Krautrock, Dub and Hip-Hop. But most of all I enjoyed the gig of Guru Guru, who are a legendary and very influental german Kraut- and Acid-Rock group, playing constantly since the late 60´s and alltough they are ( as i suppose ) all over 70 now, still make totally freaked-out live-shows, as you can see in this video for example.

video of the week: BKL livingroom gig
september 2009 i was at this little gig of brockdorff klang labor in a livingroom in berlin. in this video they already had to play an almost accoustic remix due to the police that threatend to shut down the party. the band that played after BKL (it was katze) played only whispering, which was kind of cute.

Outlook Festival Croatia 11th to 13th of September 2009
In my opinion this is the BEST event/fest that is taking place in Balkan area in one of the coolest locations ever in Croatia. Outlook festival this year is taking place in /Croatia from 11th to 13th of September 2009. If you re close to Croatia especially in Italy dont miss it , the fest has a perfect concept as well as a brilliant line up. Outlook Festivals “Exodus to Croatia” is not only the biggest and most comprehensive dubstep line-up in the world but also features some of the best names in soundsystem culture from the worlds of Dub & Dubstep, Reggae, Dancehall, Roots, Soul and Dancefloor Beats. . . . . and the line-up is still growing. With more artists still to be announced this years festival looks set to explode.
After last years massive success at The Garden, Petrcane, and this years enormous launch party in London with over 1800 attendees (400 more than we had at last years festival) tickets for this years festival are flying out so quickly that we have had no choice but to find a bigger venue. Which is exactly what we have done. And we are overjoyed with the new location.
We can now accommodate twice the number of people (3000) with a club that can fit everyone in (just about). Sandy Beaches, Monster Soundsystem. . . a beautiful location for a week of great basslines & beats, good friends, great bodies and the perfect place to learn how to Bogle.
Our new home is on the Island of Pag, a place well known for its beautiful sandy beaches and parties that go long into the night. At the new site you can still swim in the glistening Adriatic, dance under the stars & join us aboard the amazing Boat Parties.

You can come and stay for a week or just a long weekend, there’s plenty to see and do and there will be entertainment and
shenanigans provided for the duration. Musical entertainment will take place on a terraced bar on by the sea for day and night-time dancing, an outside amphitheatre overlooking the ocean for live acts, the nightclub and of course not forgetting the Boat Party.
The surrounding area is equally beautiful and there is loads to do such as island hopping, exploring the national parks and nearby mountains, enjoying the culinary delights of the local farming and fishing villages or simply relaxing on any of the various beaches – for more info please visit the local tourist board – www.croatia.hr

Athens: report from Legalize Festival
Legalize pro-testival is an annual event that takes place in Greece. A diversity of groups , artists , cultural activists gather every year to protest against the Greek drug policy. Legalize protestival is also a mobilization for all those people who faced the state repression because They like to smoke weed. This year the Festival has been divided in two parts (weekends). The first weekend of May the festival took place at Ermou street in the very (center)heart of Athens and the second at the park of environmental awarreness quite close to the city center. The first weekend , before the concerts , the big party and so on, a street parade inspired by reclaim the streets was extending in the big traffics of the city center. A diversity of music like reggae , drum n bass , trance , other accoustic styles , hip hop , punk etc and a lot of people who were willing to stand openly on the the streets for basic legal rights . Therefore the festival was successful , with a lot promises for its development next year. I was not in the organizational collective but I got impressed with the people who joined it as well as the radical overview of the organizers.
I think that even the most suspicious persons about the political background of that festival got satisfied from the participation as well as the collective’s announcement that I put forward bellow.
“This festival is organized from all of us ,for the benefit of all of us and it can take place only through the conscious participation and help from everybody. It is an open public celebration for Freedom of Expression and Freedom of Choice, Self-Determination, Personal and Social Autonomy. There is not any separation between the “organizers”, the “artists”, the cultural activists and all the participators. There is no ticket, no payments or any financial profit , Self-Organization,Voluntary participatory responsibility, Liberation of the Public Space, Anti-commercial logic, Non-Employment, Non-Profit Economics are the values that you find hidden inside the core of Athens Legalize it Festival , in the fight against all prohibitions and against all addictions, in the same way as in all events and festivals of the underground social and political movement in GreeceThis festival fights openly against any kind of drug culture, against the drug-dealers ,against heroin, against cocaine, against ego-trips, against using of multi substances, against junkie attidute and irrational overdose selfish using of substances (whatever kind of them! ) This festival is against stupefaction, freak-out and self-delusion Freedom, Love,Friendship, Music,Travelling, Celebrations,Existential experience of collective Joy,The Dreaming, Creativity, Opening of Consciousness Could never surrender to jailers, Judges, psychiatrists, policemen Or drug-dealers It is an obligation of all of us. Germany Fusion 25-28 of June 2009 Announcement !!!

One of the Biggest Festival in Germany is coming this year as well soon. The tickets are already sold out (pro sale) but you can find yours (If you dont have it already at the entrance. Fusion is seriously one of the best events I ever been .. Fusion 2009 is comming! The Presale is over! Don’t blame us! But it’s happened! All 19.000 presale tickets available have been sold out. As early as Easter, can you believe it!? What now? Don’t fret, there’ll still be tickets available on the day, at the gate, just means you have to pay the full whack of EUR 55.00 (+ EUR 5.00 waste deposit). But as we don’t want to deprive you of the bliss one is said to experience when the postman rings twice and brings the tickets to your door, we have decided to sell the at-the-gate-tickets in advance. But you will only be able to buy those online, and on our website. Thus we make sure that all those possessing an inherent fear of coming too late will be able to continue to sleep soundly. There is no need to be afraid, though, you are still safe this year: the number of tickets at the gate will be unlimited. In 2010 we may well have reached the point where we can only sell a limited amount of presale tickets and have to cancel the ticket sale at the gate all together. Who would have thought that it would come to this … There is still one option open to all enthusiasts to experience the Fusion at a discount! If you want to support the Festival with some hands-on work at any of the hotspots of the festival, you can contact us on arbeitsamt@fusion-festival.de For a six-hour shift that you have worked we will refund you EUR 30.00 of your entrance fee. Shifts have already started to be given out. Last year our “Arbeitsamt” (employment agency) gave out more than 2.200 shifts, but still, many such enthusiasts were still badly needed on Sunday and Monday. As to the booking ? all we want to say: ?it’s up and running?. Apart from that, preparations for the upcoming Fusion are in full flow. What applies is ?the art of understatement?, meaning that, as far as this lies in our hands, there won’t be any propaganda other than what’s imparted to you on our website and what’s passed on by word of mouth. Parts of the programme won’t be published till June, and the complete lineup will only be available at the festival, printed in the festival guide. Apart from that, nothing good is to be told of the Fusion 2009: programme completely boring and crap, weather really crap too, underground atmosphere, place full of idiots, far too many people and all really high, but no pot to smoke, beer even more expensive, schnapps and meat not allowed, fucked up nerds everywhere, no fun anywhere, all of them Nazis anyway … well, Fusion as you know it! Are there any news? The news for 2009 are, that we are forced to charge a ?car fee? of 10,- EUR per car driving onto the camping site due to the increasing traffic, dust and mud in the recent years. Apart from that, the camping space is limited and we have nearly reached this limit. So a certain regulation of the situation is necessary. We aim at: * reducing the traffic on the camping site drastically * using the existing spaces in a more efficient and economic way * making room for additional rescue services * free car parks with the possibility of permanent access and departure * a general reduction of vehicles * supporting ride sharing and using public transport We are sorry to say that experience taught us that regulations like these only work when they cost money. So whoever wants to prevent further costs, should * come with public transport or share a ride * equip him/herself with sufficient supplies beforehand, come in and let the car inside * use the shuttle busses if needed for swimming or shopping * park one car of your friends-car-pool on the free car park for shopping etc. * park the car on the free car park and camp on a nearby camping space For you, this means only a slight restriction of your liberties, but for us it means an important reduction of our problems. In the coming year, we will also introduce an additional camping site attendance to have a better supervision of what is going on there and to minimize unlovely happenings. So there will be several info-help points where you can ask for help and advice. Of course, this cannot replace your taking care of each other. More space for all! For the first time, we will attach a space outside the airfield to the festival. We have bought a meadow right beside the festival-area, and as this space is surrounded by canals on three sides, it will be called ?Island? in future. Here, a new and calm space will develop which should only be visited if you feel fit for the island. Besides others, a French circus-group will be our guests there and give performances of theatre, cabaret music etc. The island will be connected to the festival through a short footpath and a bridge. The children space will move! As this space should be quieter and calmer we decided to move the children space and family camping zone to this island. Thus, the children space would be farther away from the festival area and would meet the requirements of a reasonable child care better. There will be camping sites near the children space (which also will cost 10,- EUR car fee and which can only be reached if you possess a valid ticket for all adults and children older than 12 years). The cultural programme will be fit for children, but as always: the children space is no place for people who just dump their children there without taking care of them themselves. So if you are not willing to organize an adequate child care on your own, please don?t come with your kids!
