Nick Douwma better known by his stage name Sub focus , a popular english drum n bass producer released his debut album last October (2009). Many friends especially from the UK and many others in Greece got excited about this guy’s debut Album. I suppose many of you understand why! I had a closer listen to the album and the only I have to say is that Im happy to see so many new and nice releases the lastyears. Obviously besides the drum n bass concept however you can find much of house , dubstep even trance elements:) that makes it essentially interesting album. For those who think that this is a right way to go in the future , a lot of mixed influence to the genres development , this album is recomended . We finish our series with Berlin local Grizzly, who definatelly deserves it just because he constantly keeps us updated with wonderful mixes. they are non-techno, but definately influenced by this scene.
looking back on 2009, also the Berlin Netaudio festival was an extraordinary nice event. From their soundcloud page we picked a live set of Dreher & sm.art, it was not recorded at the Netaudio festival, but at the site of the fusion festival (by the way, did you know that this year the tickets for fusion are limited and to large parts sold…?)
so now we are in the later third of our ten pieces countdown, so time for some review of autumn. In Berlin there was a little radioproject, named Herbstradio (autumn radio), with a focus on ad-free local-focused culture presentations.They plan to have a regular radio from may 2010 on, but need donations!
