Excerpts from 1996′ French documentary Universal Techno featuring Juan Atkins & Derrick May. Extend a description of the Detroit scene as well as the music progress through the concept of some of the greatest techno artists of that time. Besides techno scene and discussion you could find an interesting view of the big US metropolis , the life conditions and depressing environment. Somehow Juan Atkins put some efforts to analyse the reasons , why techno growed so fast the previous decades there. With no doubt this film is absolutely spectacular , a good introduction for those who are interest on the history of techno in the states and beyond. This post is also part of our efforts , documenting artists and music from the early beginning of the contemporary electronic history.
Electronic awakening is a documentary concerning electronic music culture made by an “outsider” Andrew Johner. I found it on globalraver blog and I suppose its interesting for you to watch. It seems that a handful of new people put some efforts to reflect , in my opinion successfully on dance music contemporary counter culture. I really enjoyed this documentary made by an “outsider”.

tonight i was at a underground film screening of the new yes men movie. the yes men are a radical prank and hoax team that want to save the world (from everything bad).
the yes men themselves showed it as part of their tour to berlin. they have their movie shown at berlinale (the international film festival that is happening right now) – and of course they did some action at the red carpet which will be presented the next days on their website.
so that place, called betahaus, maybe will become an interesting spot. basically it’s a shared office space for “creative” workers… one more bastion of self organisation for the precarious workers. and at night they will remove their desks from time to time now to share some time with visitors, like for example this first event this evening. also part of the event was a museum of capitalism, but i think this little art exhibition didn’t take off at all. well yea, if you are located in berlin, see you there next week.
Surfing on the internet is always useful. Some nights ago , I was siting on my bed really lazy. I thought that it is not good idea to watch a documenatary. Well I decide to watch the WE CALL IT TECHNO , a documentary film describing the first steps of techno , acid house scene and definitely the Legendary Love Parade … Type we call it techno on google videos and watch this documentary. It is kind interesting..
