free downloads: new EP Androids by Dysphemic
After the album Hypnosis , Dysphemic our good friend from Melbourne Australia strikes again with a new EP. It has released it on his own website as well as souncloud since few days now. The dark and glitch style of Dysphemic remains on this EP , more or less following the philosophy of the previous releases. The release includes 3 tracks : Androids , Space bird , not from this world with no doubt one of my favorite releases so far. All the tracks are great, with perhaps a complimentary remark to “not from this world” just because I still like the artists who especially try to put some efforts of producing drum n bass today. Mix Countdown 8/10
Another mix I really appreciated this year, is the “Der Taktfisch tappt im Dunkeln” (the beatfish is groping in the dark) mix by Zweifuss ; resident at Schillingbar, founder of the legendary Elektrofreak partys at Rauchhaus and one of my favourite Djs in Berlin. The Mix combines freaky jazz and house beside the club-mainstream and is very catchy and highly addictive.
Mix Countdown 6/10
A mix I really appreciated this year, is the first mixtape by Neulich Irgendwo , an uprising DJ-team from Potsdam, the small and apparently underestimated techno-suburb of Berlin. The mix combines a nice blend of discohouse, some acid and lots of timeless afterhour-classics, you normally only would aspect to be played on a sunday-afternoon at Golden Gate. I associate this mix with the A.K.N.E. ‘ s summer-actions, when we always used to play it on our soundsystem Mobile Dufte Mini Anlage (MDMA) , while raving trough the city, taking part in some street-parades and demonstrations.

two mixes by dr0fn0thing
my wanderings in this certain bass/dub genre… really unprofessional and stuff, i didn’t aim to be all clean and perfect with these mixes (i would have failed anyways), just trying to make a point here, being that of [...] just listen to the sets. new one is coming up.
i did these mixes mostly with mp3 promos of this new bass stuff, with an opensource mixing software called Mixx, and a cheap midi controller to have at least some knobs to touch.
