If you live in Athens , visit or whatever , dont miss tonight a hip hop , drum n bass , breakbeat and probably dubstep event. A hip hop crew in collaboration with the collective of FUNXION will keep you awake until late in the morning tonight. The live event will take place at the strefi hill in the very heart of exarchia. In my point of view , this is the best recomendation for tonight in the city , without ignoring the problem that the events have the same concept always , something that for a lot of people make it a bit borring , as I heard yesterday night by some friends. If the weather is bad the event will move in Politechnical university , 5 min walking.
In my opinion this is the BEST event/fest that is taking place in Balkan area in one of the coolest locations ever in Croatia. Outlook festival this year is taking place in /Croatia from 11th to 13th of September 2009. If you re close to Croatia especially in Italy dont miss it , the fest has a perfect concept as well as a brilliant line up. Outlook Festivals “Exodus to Croatia” is not only the biggest and most comprehensive dubstep line-up in the world but also features some of the best names in soundsystem culture from the worlds of Dub & Dubstep, Reggae, Dancehall, Roots, Soul and Dancefloor Beats. . . . . and the line-up is still growing. With more artists still to be announced this years festival looks set to explode.
After last years massive success at The Garden, Petrcane, and this years enormous launch party in London with over 1800 attendees (400 more than we had at last years festival) tickets for this years festival are flying out so quickly that we have had no choice but to find a bigger venue. Which is exactly what we have done. And we are overjoyed with the new location.
We can now accommodate twice the number of people (3000) with a club that can fit everyone in (just about). Sandy Beaches, Monster Soundsystem. . . a beautiful location for a week of great basslines & beats, good friends, great bodies and the perfect place to learn how to Bogle.
Our new home is on the Island of Pag, a place well known for its beautiful sandy beaches and parties that go long into the night. At the new site you can still swim in the glistening Adriatic, dance under the stars & join us aboard the amazing Boat Parties.

You can come and stay for a week or just a long weekend, there’s plenty to see and do and there will be entertainment and
shenanigans provided for the duration. Musical entertainment will take place on a terraced bar on by the sea for day and night-time dancing, an outside amphitheatre overlooking the ocean for live acts, the nightclub and of course not forgetting the Boat Party.

Reworks is the first ever complete audio-visual art festival in the north of Greece, which has been taking place for the past 4 years under the inspiration, initialization and artistic supervision of NON collective.

The 5th edition of Reworks Festival will take place this year on September 18th and 19th in 2009 at the Vilka Complex in the heart of the subcapital of Greece, Thessaloniki.
Reworks aims to present this year whatever fresh and new from artists that marked 2009 with their works while paying tribute to music legends that influenced electronic music like no others always accompanied by the most promising Hellenic live acts and DJ’s. Techno, house, Electro, disco, funk, soul, freestyle, trip hop, hip hop, ambient, IDM, abstract electronica will be presented through live and dj sessions combined with installations, exhibitions and visual works. We didnt present more electronic music producers for a while. That happened because of all the scheduled content and the strategy of serving you only one post a day. The previous special editions of insti2te were quite sucessfull with some hundred visits , therefore today We would like to catch up with a new one concerning one more dj that we like here at the shituationist insti2te blog. Im writing again about a classic , definitely popular producer , Dj zinc. As I wrote at my previous posts , my idea is based on our motivation for more new sounds , producers editions in order to open discussions , explore new things. Therefore Im waiting your comments as well as more related information …
Dj zinc comes originally from UK , became popular for his 1995′s “super sharp shooter” , a hip hop / jungle fusion.I guess a lot of you re still remember this. Dj zinc started his music activities as producer and dj , following the music explosion of the rave tedencies. Definitely his music roots are extending from different music styles like ragga , hip hop thought hardstep and so on. He continue to dj in a regular basis all the previous years and he released the single “138 Trek” in 1999 an other popular one.
DJ Zinc produces and DJs as part of the Ganja Kru and True Playaz collectives, often in association with friend and mentor DJ Hype. He also runs the Bingo Beats record label, which releases both drum and bass and breaks records. He has also been known to release many records under the alias of Dope Skillz.
In 2001, Zinc released a remixcompilation album of his own productions called Beats By Design. By August 2004, he released his second album, Faster a concept album of sorts. The album, as the name suggests, ups the tempo little-by-little for each song. The title track, and album opener, epitomises this and is a grimey crawl through bass and beat that speeds up from 40bpm into the early 100′s by its end.
Dj zinc remains positively an artist in development . I would rather like to know , where he plays the upcoming months , checking every posibility to attend to the next party. But I dont think that only Dj zinc is in development. In the whole Drum n bass scene you can find really impressive releases as well as a lot of new artists , mcs etc , ready to rock the dancefloors with their sounds in every moment.
Legalize pro-testival is an annual event that takes place in Greece. A diversity of groups , artists , cultural activists gather every year to protest against the Greek drug policy. Legalize protestival is also a mobilization for all those people who faced the state repression because They like to smoke weed. This year the Festival has been divided in two parts (weekends). The first weekend of May the festival took place at Ermou street in the very (center)heart of Athens and the second at the park of environmental awarreness quite close to the city center. The first weekend , before the concerts , the big party and so on, a street parade inspired by reclaim the streets was extending in the big traffics of the city center. A diversity of music like reggae , drum n bass , trance , other accoustic styles , hip hop , punk etc and a lot of people who were willing to stand openly on the the streets for basic legal rights . Therefore the festival was successful , with a lot promises for its development next year. I was not in the organizational collective but I got impressed with the people who joined it as well as the radical overview of the organizers.
I think that even the most suspicious persons about the political background of that festival got satisfied from the participation as well as the collective’s announcement that I put forward bellow.
“This festival is organized from all of us ,for the benefit of all of us and it can take place only through the conscious participation and help from everybody. It is an open public celebration for Freedom of Expression and Freedom of Choice, Self-Determination, Personal and Social Autonomy. There is not any separation between the “organizers”, the “artists”, the cultural activists and all the participators. There is no ticket, no payments or any financial profit , Self-Organization,Voluntary participatory responsibility, Liberation of the Public Space, Anti-commercial logic, Non-Employment, Non-Profit Economics are the values that you find hidden inside the core of Athens Legalize it Festival , in the fight against all prohibitions and against all addictions, in the same way as in all events and festivals of the underground social and political movement in GreeceThis festival fights openly against any kind of drug culture, against the drug-dealers ,against heroin, against cocaine, against ego-trips, against using of multi substances, against junkie attidute and irrational overdose selfish using of substances (whatever kind of them! ) This festival is against stupefaction, freak-out and self-delusion Freedom, Love,Friendship, Music,Travelling, Celebrations,Existential experience of collective Joy,The Dreaming, Creativity, Opening of Consciousness Could never surrender to jailers, Judges, psychiatrists, policemen Or drug-dealers It is an obligation of all of us. This gathering to be a lesson From all of to all of us, An experience that can make us better people an empowering experience a gathering of awareness.
