“Bergain mobilizes against GEMA.

German uber-club Berghain have urged clubbers to sign the petition challenging GEMA’s plans to raise collection fees by up t0 1,400% on a message included in their latest newsletter.

“The Berghain OstGut GmbH does not accept this price dictatorship of the new fare structure from GEMA decision and calls for the development of new, fair tariff structures in the coexistence of small and large operators,” the Berghain statement says.

Many clubs will have to close, or there is a massive increase in entrance fees necessary – so that many guests the ‘clubbing’ can no longer afford. Similar to YouTube, it will then be disappointed faces at the club doors.
